You may need cancer care at home following a period of treatment or surgery; from everyday tasks to more involved personal care. You may be looking for palliative care to support your loved one so that they can spend the rest of their life in the familiar surroundings of home. In these difficult times, our live-in carers are unobtrusive and respectful.
Whether you are undergoing treatment for cancer, are in the initial recovery period or living with a terminal diagnosis, people often don’t consider private cancer care with a live-in carer. Our compassionate carers are trained to give support where it is needed and allow you the space to carry on everyday life where possible.
Home care for cancer patients can improve their sense of wellbeing even on the worst days. Our live-in carers help to maintain a sense of dignity and where possible, independence, for you or your loved one. Being able to remain at home, in comfortable and familiar surroundings can help to alleviate distress and discomfort.
Our care managers will regularly review your personalised care plan and visit you at home to discuss this with you and your carer every month. Our tailored care plans address specialist medical needs for your stage and type of cancer and combine them with general support needs for a truly bespoke solution.
Whether you use Promedica24 for short-term care after treatment, palliative care or for long-term cancer care at home, we’ll take the same professional approach. We carefully assess a client’s care needs to help them to live as fulfilling a life as possible in the comfort of their own home. We present a selection of carers based on our clients’ interests, personality and lifestyle and you then choose the most suitable fit. You can keep the same carer for up to three months at a time before they take a break, at which point, they will alternate with another carer that you have chosen who is just as suitable as the first.
Promedica24 looked after my father and step mother in the home for some time in 2015/2016. I found the carers caring and professional, having to adapt on a daily basis to the care of my father and his wife.
When my father’s health deteriorated which unfortunately happens with the elderly, they were compassionate and had much empathy towards our family and the people they were caring for. D.D Mudeford, Christchurch
