Short-term care

You may only need care and support for a couple of weeks because your full-time carer is taking holiday or you are recovering from a simple operation. It could be that you are looking for a carer to help the family as your loved one reaches the end of their life. We have carers trained for all these situations and more, providing care and support in the comfortable surroundings of home.

Someone there when you need it most

Recovery from an unexpected illness or stay in hospital is understandably easier when you know you can do it at home. Our live-in carers can stay for short periods of two to six weeks to ensure a smooth recovery and a comfortable transition back into your own home.

End-of-life care can be an extremely emotional and traumatic experience for family members who undertake it themselves. Our live-in carers alleviate some of the burden by allowing you to spend precious time with your loved one whilst they manage the daily support tasks in the background. Caring isn’t just our profession, it’s our passion and we are here to make life as easy as possible for you at the most difficult of times.

Everyone needs a break from time to time and our respite care service offers vital relief for many people. Imagine having someone you can trust to take over the reins so that you can enjoy a holiday or a much needed break from being a full-time carer to your loved one. You can return feeling rejuvenated and rest easy in the knowledge that you can call on our services at any time in the future.

When selecting a carer for you or your loved one, we don’t just select based on skills for your particular health needs. We also aim to match carers to your interests, personality and lifestyle so that we can present a selection of best-fit carers for you to choose from.

We understand that short-term care services can often be required with just a few days’ notice. Because of this, we ensure that we act promptly. We can assess your care needs, present a selection of carers and then place your chosen carer in the home in as little as three to five days.

Overview of what’s typically included:

  • Home from hospital – help to support the transition from hospital or care home back in to your home
  • End of life care – to support the later stages of life
  • Respite care – to give a family member or other full-time carer a break
  • Holiday care – to provide support for a relative whilst the family goes on holiday

Testimonials

Here’s what our customers have to say about Promedica24

What people say

We have been very happy with the carers supplied by Promedica24. When our client (a gentleman in his nineties) needed a live in carer, we researched various local care agencies to ensure that he received the best care possible. We finally settled on Promedica24. The carers are brought in from Poland but, despite early issues with the language barrier (which was very quickly overcome by Promedica24 replacing a carer who was not satisfactory), we have been impressed with the professionalism of all involved and with the commitment of the carers to looking after our client. This has provided us with a great deal of re-assurance and we are able to relax knowing that he is being cared for as well as could be expected by thoughtful, caring, kind and professional individuals. Mr SW (Solicitor/POA) Christchurch, Dorset
